Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64

I did it, and I am very sorry. I used to see a thumbnail of a .jpg,
..gif, or .ico file. Now I only see the file-type icons. How do I
restore seeing thumbnails?

Two things to check:

Go to "Control Panel >> Folder Options >> View" and make sure that
"Always show icons, never thumbnails" is NOT check-marked.

In the folder itself, make sure the folder's "View" is set to one of
"Extra large icons", "Large icons", "Medium icons", "Tiles", or
"Content"; and NOT for example to "Small icons", "List", nor "Details".

Thanks a lot; I'd turned them off, and couldn't remember where.

I _think_ I did it because I asked if anyone knew how to turn off the
mini-screenshots that appear - and get in the way, being easy to click
on by mistake! - should my mouse stray into the taskbar and hover over
an open button (especially if it's one with multiple windows open).
Either someone suggested that was the way to stop them popping up (which
it doesn't), or I misinterpreted what they suggested. If anyone knows
how to stop them appearing, especially if it _doesn't_ stop the
thumbnails, please say!
